SEO... Reach Out To Potential Customers Online

It is very important to know what SEO is and when it comes into the picture. It is a worldwide practice which has been used to improve a particular website's ranking on the Search Engines, like Google, Yahoo, Bing and there are many others. To consider your website for specified search terms it is definitely important that the content is well researched and optimized with selected keywords. This practice is well known as "onsite" SEO.

The important aspect is, it requires some knowledge for making sure that you have set up your website with the correct Meta page titles, Meta tags, page headings, image 'ALT' tags, file names and content. And the most important thing is you need to place your keywords, key-phrases with well optimized content.

When the search engine crawls on your website then it looks for the navigation structure of the website and folder structure as well. It is very important that you organize your website before publishing it. It's good practice that you optimize your code in such a way that most important sections of the website can be read easily by the user. There are a few good programs that will assist you with SEO and I'll direct you to one that I use and recommend at the end of this post.

There is one good technique called link building which is very popular to get a high ranking. This technique is linking your website with many other websites. The links which your site will get from other sites will act as a vote to your web site. This is the way by which Google ranks each website by looking at other websites who have a link pointing back to your site. There are other techniques like submitting websites to directories, submitting articles and press releases, Social networking. All these techniques will help you to get quality links to your website.

The above mentioned SEO techniques are mainly divided in two parts "on-site" and "off-site" optimization. Onsite optimization is a technique where you will take care of website structure, content, code optimization, and directory structure. In off site optimization you will take care of link building by directory submission, Article writing, Blogs etc.

It will be good for you to do some research and understand search engine techniques to rank each website. There are many parameters which search engines take into account to rank websites.

I use a very good system created by my very good friend and mentor, Sean Supplee, and it's called Take Action SEO. I highly recommend it and it's a very low cost program that will assist you in understanding SEO and guide you to the techniques that will work for you.

Until next time, I wish you peace and easy traveling on YOUR Success Avenues. Randy Ritter

Product Review: Traffic Resort

Traffic Resort is a new site that says it guarantees more CONVERTING web visitors and online advertising with very little effort or cost. So I decided to put it to the test...

My first impression was the site looks professional and clean, with an attractive look and feel. It is easy to read and understand. Joining the site was easy and painless--they do offer 2 upgrade options but they are not required to gain the benefits.

The Members Area is very well laid out and intuitive--I could figure out what to do after only a few minutes and was able to get up and running in less than 5 minutes. Inside the site, you create links and ads--the links you simply enter any URL links you use into the generator and it transforms them into "Traffic Resort" links. You create ads for anything you want to promote using the Traffic Resort Ad Generator, which is very easy to use. You can create as many links and as many ads as you like. And they are organized in a logical way--links are displayed in the order you create them but also your 5 most recent links appear on the main page for quick reference. Also, since the link generator is the tool you'll use most, it is also right at the top of the main page when you login. Very smart!

After you've created at least 1 link and 1 ad you can start to generate traffic. Just use and promote the new Traffic Resort link instead of the original source link you had. Every time the Traffic Resort link is clicked, the page loads followed by a cool slide-up ad window at the bottom. It displays an ad PLUS an image with your affiliate link that goes back to Traffic Resort. So if anyone clicks the Traffic Resort image they see the site, and if they signup they become your referral. It's a great viral feature because you can build referrals without even trying to just by using the site.

Now every time the ad window displays (your Traffic Resort links get clicked) you earn credits that get YOUR ad displayed in the ad windows when other members' links get clicked. So the more clicks, the more times your ads get displayed.

And this works virally--meaning as you make referrals into Traffic Resort (either by promoting it or just using it and visitors click the Traffic Resort image on the ad window to join) you also earn ad credits on THEIR link clicks. And this works up to 5 levels deep. So you can create a massive amount of free ad views and web traffic by referring others to Traffic Resort also.

I didn't get to test the full effect of a big downline yet (I just got the tool) but I can tell you the rest of the site works exactly as stated--my links got clicked, I earned credits, and my ads got displayed. Traffic Resort even tracked my results so I know how many clicks and how many ad displays. That was an impressive unadvertised extra feature.

There is one more benefit and feature which might be the best of them all--downline emailing. You can email your downline with offers, promotions, or whatever you like, and here is where Traffic Resort really shines. They took time to make the emailing often enough that it's valuable as a user, but no so often that it's a burden to your downline. But the best part about this feature (and actually the credit earning too) is that it tells you exactly how long until you can mail again. Now THAT's cool.

Overall I have to say I am impressed with Traffic Resort. It is simple yet powerful, and delivers on its promises. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to increase traffic and advertising.

5 Mistakes That Drive Your Prospects Away From Your Website

Some websites are very informative, interesting and they make you feel good. They are easy to navigate and you also get very useful information on them. Conversely, there are some websites which are very repulsive, boring or confusing. Some of these websites may have so many graphics or some have a very unappealing layout. These websites are not good for a business. Is your website driving your visitors away?

Your website makes or breaks your online business. A good and professionally designed website will bring you a lot of customers and sales and make your online business.

What common mistakes drive visitors away from a website?

1. Confusing websites.

These are the websites which, when you visit them, you just can not tell what is on offer. The layout is not efficient, and you can not easily navigate the site. For some websites, the website name, URL and blog names do not reflect the website's focus. These websites can also have a lot of products and services on offer that are not focused. Make sure that your website, as well as services and products you offer are as focused as possible. If you want to offer a range of products in your online business and want to sell them from one website; make sure that they are related and be creative in the way you present them on your website.

2. A 'mirror image' template that is similar to other websites.

There are a lot of these 'website in a box' offers; although they make things easy for you since you get a ready-to-go website for your online business - they are not good for your business in the long term. Online customers do not want to see exactly the same website layout over and over. It is highly recommended that you hire someone to tweak and adjust your template to personalize it and make it your own. Personalize your online business' website and be different!

3. Too many, and hard to load graphics.

For many people websites with graphics that sing and dance are just annoying and unprofessional. These graphics do not add much to your website in terms of search engine rankings or user-friendliness, and are not therefore useful for your online business. What you need most on your website is unique, relevant and high quality content. A sleek layout that makes it clear and easy how to navigate the website is essential for your online business.

4. Ineffective use of keywords and phrases.

This is essential for your visibility on search engines. Make sure that your website is well optimized.

5. A website that lacks any 'benefits' to prospects.

The internet is supposed to be full of useful and helpful information. Although you are selling your online business' services or products mainly, your website must also offer the reader high quality unique information. Also, if you offer an e-zine or e-course on your website, it must also offer some useful information. It is also recommended that you get creative and offer many other 'stuff' that relates to your website. The idea is to make visitors want to bookmark your website and want to come back again. This is very important for your online business.

Your website is very important for your success online. Make sure that all the links are functional. Your website must be informative and easy to navigate. You must also offer various ways for payment processing for your customers. It pays to hire someone to design or adjust your website for you.

If you want to succeed online, avoid these common website mistakes.

Are You a Victim of These Outdated "Marketing Tips?

Everybody wants to know about the latest and greatest "internet marketing tips" - but there's a problem. Almost everything you read is sorely outdated!

Search engines come up with new ways to make you work harder for that coveted top ranking, making you pay more for your best keywords. Banner ads have a pathetically low conversion rate and buying text links just flat out doesn't work anymore.

If you're struggling to stay afloat in the online marketing game - you're not alone. Countless people have lost hundreds - even thousands of dollars - all trying to find the next "big thing" in web promotion.

This time though, I've found it. It's called HeaderLinks and is a unique way of advertising that puts YOUR ads at the top of other people's websites - so it's the first thing their visitors see!

In a nutshell, you'll be promoting your affiliate links the way you always have - except you'll be earning valuable advertising credits that you can use to promote your product at the top of other people's pages!

HeaderLinks is free to join, which means you never pay "per click" or "per conversion". I guarantee you'll love HeaderLinks so much, you'll tell anyone and everyone you know about it.

The best part is, when you do - YOU get rewarded! We'll double your ad credits for every person you refer who signs up for HeaderLinks - plus give you extra credits for every person THEY refer too!

As you can see, this is an easy, quick and sure-fire way to build up your advertising exposure and marketing reach in ways you couldn't until now!

Try getting results like that from a pay-per-click campaign or a banner ad! Click here to sign up and get started in minutes - not days!

The Top Six Ways to Stay Motivated

Hello again!~ First, let me apologize for not posting for the last few weeks.

I had some other projects taking most of my attention, but still I should have taken the time to make a post or two. (Makes note to not procrastinate) :))

I found this great article by Chris Widener and I wanted to share some of it with you this week....so Heeeeeere's Chris!!!

I receive many emails from people that basically ask the same question: How can I keep myself motivated long term? This seems to be quite a common dilemma for many people so I want to address it because it can be done! Here are my tips for staying motivated:

Get motivated every day.

Zig Ziglar was once confronted about being a "motivational speaker." The guy said to him, "You guys come and get people hyped up and then you leave and the motivation goes away. It doesn't last, and then you have to get motivated again." Zig reminded the gentleman that baths are the same way but we think it is a good idea to take a bath every day!

It is true that motivation doesn't last.

We have to renew it each and every day. That is okay. It doesn't make motivation a bad thing. We simply have to realize that if we want to stay motivated over the long term, it is something we will have to apply to ourselves each and every day.

Have a vision for your life.

The root word of motivation is "motive." The definition of motive is, "A reason to act." This is the cognitive or rational side of motivation. It is your vision. You have to have a vision that is big enough to motivate you. If you are making $50,000 a year, it isn't going to motivate you to set your goal at $52,000 a year. You just won't get motivated for that because the reward isn't enough. Maybe $70,000 a year would work for you. Set out a vision and a strategy for getting there. Have a plan and work the plan.

Fuel your passion.

Much of motivation is emotional. I don't know quite how it works but I do know THAT it works. Emotion is a powerful force in getting us going. Passion is an emotion, so fuel your passion. "Well, I like to work on logic," you may say. Great, now work on your passion. Set yourself on a course to have a consuming desire for your goal, whatever it is. Do whatever you can to feel the emotion and use it to your advantage!

Work hard enough to get results.

You can build on your motivation by getting results. The harder you work, the more results you will get and the more results you get, the more you will be motivated to get more. These things all build on one another. If you want to lose weight, then lose the first few pounds. When the belt moves to the next notch you will get fired up to get it to the notch beyond that!

Put good materials into your mind.

I can't say this enough - listen to tapes. I still listen to tapes regularly. I buy tape clubs from other speakers and I learn and grow. Their successes motivate me to get my own successes! Read good books. Read books that teach you new ideas and skills. Read books that tell the stories of successful people. Buy them, read them, and get motivated! Buy great music and listen to it. I just did a spinning class at the club today. Whenever a good song came on I was actually able to get motivated to ride faster! It gets you going and motivates you!

Ride the momentum when it comes.

Sometimes you will just be clicking and sometimes you won't. That is okay. It is the cycle of life. When you aren't clicking, plug away. When you are clicking, pour it on because momentum will help you get larger gains in a shorter period of time with less energy. That is the momentum Equation! When you are feeling good about how your work is going, ride the momentum and get as much out of it as you can!

These are the top six ways to stay motivated:

Get motivated every day.

Have a vision for your life.

Fuel your passion.

Work hard enough to get results.

Put good materials into your mind.

Ride the momentum when it comes.

These are simple principles, that when you put them to work regularly, will change your life by keeping you motivated all the time! Get going!

Thanks gang....back with you soon!

What Is A Traffic Exchange?

A Traffic Exchange or Hit Exchange as they are also known is a real Traffic Alternative. Basically you receive exposure for your own web site, banner ads, and even text links by viewing the sites and ads of other people.

Before you click away if you are thinking I do not have time to view other peoples sites, I must tell you that you do not have to as all exchanges sell advertising so if your short on time you can buy ads without any work.

These programs provide you with a very powerful and cost effective way of :

- Putting your product or service in front of a very diverse audience - Seeing what other folks are promoting - Getting an idea of how your competition is targeting their campaigns - Branding your name, gather leads, and yes, even make sales

Traffic Exchanges are member based, so you must open an account with each exchange you intend to use. This is a simple task that can be completed in just a couple of minutes, and for FREE exchanges it costs nothing to join.

Traffic Exchanges operate on a credit system. Members earn credits by participating in a variety of ways, and then "spend" these credits on website visitors to their own pages, banner ad impressions, text links, and in some cases, even email advert's.

By maintaining active memberships in a few good exchanges, you can generate a tremendous flow of traffic for any web site you wish to advertise. When used properly, these resources are an excellent way to promote just about anything.

So now you know the basics on what a Traffic Exchange is you will need to know what types of exchanges to use.

There are Manual Traffic Exchanges and Auto Surf Traffic Exchanges:

Manual - These are the exchanges that I always use as you have to click to the next site after so many seconds. This means you have to see the page to click.

AutoSurf - I stay away from these as members can just switch on and leave it scrolling from site to site while say making a cup of coffee, No one need actually see your page and in my experience many if not all don't.

You can have combination exchanges that have both but they tend to be avoided by myself.

Now you know the two types of exchanges you must now choose a FREE or PAID Exchange.

FREE - A Free exchange costs nothing to join or use and is a great free advertising resource.

I belong to over 40 FREE Exchanges.

PAID or PRO A Paid exchange or PRO exchange as they are also known requires a one time joining fee to join but this can be good as you know that every person using the exchange has actually put their hand in their pocket and spent some money online. These in my view produce better results than the free exchanges but generally have a lot less members so not as wide a reach.

How Do You Know When You're Middle Age?

Middle age is a time in life we want to forget, ignore, avoid, or put off for at least another twenty years. How do you know when you're middle age?

I'm going to put an ad in the local newspaper's LOST & FOUND column to find out where 2008 went. I don't know. I don't know when years started to have only eight months. It must have been when hours started to have only forty minutes. What I do know is that all of us will have something in common in 2009, no matter how fast the year passes. We will all be a year older. I, like everyone else, want to live healthfully and happily to a very old age; but presently I'm dealing with middle age.

According to statistics, the average life expectancy is now 77.6, which means middle age would be 38.8. The dictionary is more generous. Using the euphemism "adulthood", it defines this time as the years between 40 and 65. Of course, with 50 being the new 40 and 70 being the new 50, who knows anymore. My personal definition is 10 years older than I am.

However, we can't fool ourselves. We know when we're "mature", which is another one of the dictionary's euphemisms. It's when we start fighting the signs of aging. We diet, exercise and dye our hair. Men stop tucking their shirts in and women pray for sack dresses to come back into style.

A man knows he's "no longer young" when the weight of the world falls from his shoulders to his love handles. For women it falls to their hips. It's the time in our lives when the only thing we don't have trouble hearing is our bones creaking when we stand up. It's the time when fortune tellers read the lines in our faces instead of the lines in our palms. It's when men start hoping that jogging their memories counts as exercise and women are tempted to mix fabric softener with face cream to get rid of wrinkles.

But let's look on the bright side. Yes, there is a bright side. With middle age comes the wisdom and experience which helps us to better understand the world. Of course, being better able to understand the world is Mother Nature's way of compensating us for not being able to see the world without glasses.

When I was a teenager, I thought middle age was old. Now I think teenagers are too young to know what it is. Now I don't think it's old. I think it's just older. In fact, because I'm going to be a day older tomorrow, I'm going to enjoy being a younger person today.

Is Someone Trying To Steal Your Dream?

We all want to live life to our fullest potential. Nobody wants to struggle through life with less than what they could have achieved. Wouldn’t it be the greatest shame that we live to the end of our lives wondering what it might have turned out like if we only followed our dream earlier in life?

There is this wonderful story about an eagle that illustrates this point well. Once upon a time, there was a large mountainside, where an eagle's nest rested. The eagle's nest contained four large eagle eggs. One day an earthquake rocked the mountain causing one of the eggs to roll down the mountain, to a chicken farm, located in the valley below. The chickens knew that they must protect and care for the eagle's egg, so an old hen volunteered to nurture and raise the large egg.

One day, the egg hatched and a beautiful eagle was born. Sadly, however, the eagle was raised to be a chicken. Soon, the eagle believed he was nothing more than a chicken. The eagle loved his home and family, but his spirit cried out for more.

While playing a game on the farm one day, the eagle looked to the skies above and noticed a group of mighty eagles soaring in the skies. "Oh," the eagle cried, "I wish I could soar like those birds." The chickens roared with laughter, "You cannot soar with those birds. You are a chicken and chickens do not soar."

The eagle continued staring, at his real family up above, dreaming that he could be with them. Each time the eagle would let his dreams be known, he was told it couldn't be done. That is what the eagle learned to believe. The eagle, after time, stopped dreaming and continued to live his life like a chicken. Finally, after a long life as a chicken, the eagle passed away.

The moral of the story: You become what you believe you are; so if you ever dream to become an eagle follow your dreams, not the words of a chicken.

How often do we let ourselves be defined by other people, we let them determine our self worth whether we realize it or not. In order to live your full potential you must first believe you were born to be more than you are. You must believe it with such conviction that you follow your dream no matter how often you may be ridiculed or how often you stumble. It is in the act of following ones dreams that your potential will be realized.

The worst thing that could happen in life is to wake up one day and realize too late that we have been held back from our dreams because we were too afraid to lift ourselves out of the chicken pen and from the small thinking people. While these people may mean well, they can only see possibilities through their limitations and not from your possibilities.

Be A Success Story--7 Easy Steps To Make It Happen

Today I want to talk a little about 7 easy steps to make YOUR success Story happen.

When you allow yourself to become the person you want to be, you will write your success story.

Success stories are never accidents. They are always the result of deliberate intention and persistent action. They all began from a burning desire, a dominant aspiration.

"You will become as great as your dominant aspiration. If you cherish a vision, a lofty ideal in your heart, you will realize it," said James Allen author of As A Man Thinketh.

He also said, "Mind is the master power that molds and makes, and we are mind, and evermore we take the tool of thought, and shaping what we will, bring forth a thousand joys, a thousand ills."

How then do you turn your mind to create your success story?

Success starts within. Then it shows up in your experience. You can influence your mind to create success. You can become a success story.

For this to happen you need a blueprint.

The first step is to imagine your ideal self. Project yourself five years from now and imagine that you have everything you have ever wanted in life.

Include everything you'd like to do, everything you'd like to have, and everything you'd like to be.

The second step is to write it down. Write the story of your success.

The third step is to break down each of your desires into a goal. Thus, if in your ideal imagined scene and in your written story you are at your ideal weight, your goal may be,"I will be at my 150 pounds within 90 days."

The fourth step is to make your goal statement an affirmation. For example, "My body is lean and strong."

Put each affirmation in the present tense.

The fifth step is to make these goals into plans.

The sixth step is to put all of these into a folder. So you will have a few pages for your success story, a few for your goals, and a few for your affirmation.

The seventh and final step is read the affirmations daily, follow your plans, and log your progress.

You can also add an eighth step, too, if you like. You can add daily prayer. If you choose to pray, then include this sentence at the end: "May all this happen for the highest good for me and everyone else concerned."

Thus, to create your success story, imagine it in your mind, write out the story, break your desires down into goals, break your goals down into affirmations and into plans, then put all of these together in a folder and take action.

Let's get together and start to create YOUR success story.

The Top 10 Signs You Are Addicted to eBay!

There are literally millions of people that are striving each and everyday to make an easy buck online. The idea of making money online and especially, making money on eBay, is not new. In fact, the eBay market is a little too saturated if you ask me.

With all the nail-biting, finger-clawing, head to head competition for bids on eBay, I thought it would be nice to take a step back and poke some fun at the eBay rush. Below is a list of the top 10 signs that your addicted to eBay. Anyone that uses, or has used eBay will be able to appreciate the truth behind the list.

The Top 10 Signs You Are Addicted to eBay!

10. You consider selling the piece of chewing gum you found on your shoe.

9. You apply for a new loan and give your pay pal address as your only bank account.

8. You've taken down the degree and awards in your office to be replaced by self made power seller print-outs.

7. You save all your toe-nail clippings in a jar, hoping that one day they may be worth a small fortune.

6. You wear the same underwear for a week, waiting for your chance to outbid "gstring-guru" on a pair of used designer briefs.

5. You spend several hours a day trying to burn the face of Mary onto pieces of French Toast.

4. You've marked 87 separate - 2 inch sections on your body that can be sold as advertising space to the highest bidder.

3. You've lost so much sleep due to bidding wars that you are chosen as Christian Bale's replacement in The Machinist II.

2. You have to see a therapist because the negative feedback you got is killing your self esteem.

And the number 1 sign that you use eBay way too much,

1. You go to the county registrar and change your legal name to your eBay User ID.

While this list is meant to be a spoof on the David Letterman top 10 lists, the truth behind the humor is meant to hit home. eBay, like many other online sites have both good and bad users, many of which are out to take your money and run.

When you are using eBay, be sure to check the seller and buyer feedback prior to bidding. Don't be afraid to ask questions, or insist that the seller "prove" the authenticity of their product. In the end, if you have any doubts about bidding on an item, walk away. Most things people bid on are not needed and definitely not worth taking the risk of being ripped off.

Success.....It's About YOU!

If you take your success personal and feel strongly about succeeding in your abilities. Then I have some ideas to share with you.

I believe in order to advance from one level of income or achievement to the next level of income or achievement, it takes advancing yourself.

You see, there are millions of opportunities out there to advance up the corporate ladder, make money and find the person you want to marry. There are literally “unlimited” avenues and opportunities you can pursue to advance your own success.

Do you need to find the most stellar and lucrative opportunity in order to advance to the next level? Or, do you need to advance yourself first?

I believe you must advance yourself first.

In fact, I am completely sold on the belief that you must advance yourself in order to advance your income & success.

I see it all the time. People chase opportunities. Something comes along and gets them all hot and excited about some potentially lucrative opportunity.

Then, after that excitement wears off a bit, so goes the opportunity. The stellar and lucrative opportunity falls off the desk and gets stuffed away in the “drawer of forgotten dreams”.

However, there will be another exciting opportunity yet to come. It will arrive via email, word of mouth, video, commercial or direct mail. Something else will come along and get these people excited again and again.

We get bombarded by something like 2000 advertising messages per day – or something crazy like that. It is no wonder people are running around like chickens with their heads cut off.

It does not matter how much these people ignore and delete offers that pound their inbox. Eventually, they will succumb to a flashy and shiny new opportunity offer.

Do you know why?

Well, they will succumb to an offer sometime or another because deep down inside, they still have “The Dream”. Even if that dream gets put on the shelf for a while, it always creeps back in and the excitement is back.

Then, the entire cycle starts over again. …and again …and again …and again

Time and time again, these people get excited about another opportunity and dive in! This cycle can go on for many years. 5 years, 10 years, 20 years, 40 years, these cycles repeat themselves over and over. Here is a breakdown of the cycle.

Excitement over Opportunity...Effort and Enthusiasm...Disappointment & Adversity... Excitement dwindles...lack of Effort & Enthusiasm...Give up & quit...Stuff the dream away in the drawer...Refrain & ignore new opportunities...Desire creeps Back Up... Notice and Review New Opportunities. Then the cycle repeats itself.

What it takes is breaking that cycle and making changes. It is growth and it has to be a decision you make on your own. You have to make that decision consciously, spiritually, physically, emotionally and with everything you have – deep down in your guts.

Because nothing happens until you make a solid decision to change.

Why should I change you ask?

John Maxwell says: “Crisis is change trying to take place”.

It's not the opportunities, strategies, methods, avenues, or anything else that is preventing you from achieving your dreams........It is YOU.

As soon as that clicks and the realization kicks in that it is not the opportunities or methods that are keeping you from achieving your dreams, the sooner you can “change” and “grow”.

Many people desire financial freedom. It is the dream. Some achieve it and the very large majority does not. Most look for some shiny new opportunity that they can ride on their way to becoming a millionaire. It just does not work that way.

It is not the opportunity, it is the person.

In the Internet Marketing arena, I see many people who strive to achieve the dream. That dream is to work from home, make a ton of money and live a free life. It is the lifestyle these people are after.

However, most of them fail to achieve that dream. I have noticed that most of the dilemma is not the methods, strategies or opportunities.

It is the person.

So many Internet Marketers, opportunists and business people devote their time to opportunities, methods, strategies and other stuff. Of course, those are all parts of the puzzle. However, the most important part of that puzzle is you.

It would be much better, in my belief, if you focused more on yourself and developing, growing and learning. Unfortunately, most people will skip right past the development and scan for strategies and opportunities.

Others may say to themselves, I know all of this already. I know everything there is to know about personal development. Well, maybe a little more open mindedness will help you advance and make you more money.

To me, it is a solid fact. To advance and grow, you must advance and grow yourself. To make more money, be happier, healthier, more successful, etc. it is not up to the strategy or opportunity to do that… it is UP TO YOU.

Doesn’t that make sense?

You will see that this life is yours and you are in control of it.

The opportunities are abundant. There are millions of strategies, and methods. There are millions of ideas and avenues you can take. However, there is just one you. And, what you do with “YOU” will determine if you achieve your dreams or not.

Attitudes & Behaviors of Successful People

Today I want to talk a little about the attitudes and behaviors of successful people.

All successful people have a vision defined for their life and a clear understanding of how their work will help them create the life they want.

These individuals exhibit seven behavioral traits.

Time Management: Successful people are great time managers.

It is a behavior that allows them to protect their time, energy and yes, even their money. Since they know where they are going and what they must do, they know the people they need to meet and the actions that will take them where they want to go. They know that time is a precious commodity and there are only so many hours in a day. They use this time wisely.

Focus: Successful people are focused.

Being focused is like being a marathon runner. They continually put one foot in front of the other and know they have specific actions they must do to finish the job at hand (finish the race). They stay focused on those actions.

Discipline: Successful people are disciplined.

They do not lose sight of where they are going or how they are going to get there. They walk away from or delay activities that do not take them where they want to go. They develop routines that become habits and they are disciplined in those routines.

Persistent: Successful people are persistent.

They know where they are going and they do not quit. They may find bumps, curves and delays on the "Avenues to Success", but they find away around each obstacle. They learn from their mistakes, try again and approach obstacles from different directions until they find what works, but they do not quit.

Responsibility: Successful people are responsible.

They know their actions determine the results they get. They know they control the outcome through their behavior. If things are not working they know that they can change their behavior and move towards the desired outcome. They also know that they need others to be successful and they are quick to give credit to others as they achieve success.

Results Oriented: Successful people are results oriented.

They understand that the only thing that counts are results. They make no excuses. They know there is no such thing as trying, only doing. You get the job done or you do not.

People Oriented: Successful people are people oriented.

A common trait of successful people is that they understand their success is dependent upon how well they motivate, inspire, lead, manage, sell and communicate to others their ideas, vision, thoughts, and action.

How many of these attitudes and behaviors are you using? Honestly ask yourself if you are using all seven and, if you are not happy with the answer, put a plan in place to begin using these new behaviors.

Henry Ford Was a Failure!

He is also a shining example of his own assertion that "Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently."

In 1928, Henry Ford set out to increase his bottom line by exerting more control over his supply chain - now called vertical integration - and began the process of creating his own rubber plantation in Brazil. There is some debate over whether his motive was strictly to achieve better pricing for the raw materials needed to make tires for the automobiles he was manufacturing; there was, at the time, a virtual monopoly on rubber coming from a limited number of producers.

He persisted in his venture through numerous difficulties, including a riot by the workers on his plantation who were not enthusiastic about being forced to adhere to the American lifestyle imposed by the management of the facility. He finally gave up in 1945 when the advent of synthetic rubber made organic rubber obsolete for manufacturing purposes. He sold the entire operation to the Brazilian government for a loss of $20 million -, which equates to $200 million in today's economy.

But Henry Ford didn't just give up and walk away. He continued to build his automotive empire into what we know today as one of the premier automobile manufacturers with a global market. He persisted, and continued to work toward his ultimate vision. His achievements are legendary, and his insight into the human condition is profound. Other quotes from his writings and interviews are:

"Whether you think that you can, or that you can't, you are usually right."

"Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success."

"Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal."

"Time and money spent in helping men to do more for themselves is far better than mere giving."

"A business absolutely devoted to service will have only one worry about profits. They will be embarrassingly large."

I have no doubt that Henry Ford learned some of these concepts the hard way - through experience and occasional failure - but I am equally certain that the lessons he learned and have passed on will prove to be as valuable in the present and future as they were to him in the past.

Failure is a learning tool...not an indication of worthlessness.

Success will come to those who are devoted to the idea of service, and can work together with others with the same mindset.

Developing a mindset for accomplishment and staying focused on the goal will be the greatest challenge, and the sweetest victory.

Whatever your challenges are, and despite the obstacles that life places in your path, your dreams and goals can be achieved by applying the same principles that have resulted in one of the greatest success stories of the 20th century. Use these principles on a daily basis, and your achievements will astound you!

Is This The Secret To Success?

I want to discuss a key that is vital in your quest to achieve your goals. Ask any successful person what was it that enabled them to reach goals and they will tell you they took action. If you do not take action on a goal or a dream it will eventually die.

Fortunately, being decisive and taking action is a skill that can be learned. Successful people do the opposite of unsuccessful people in as much as they make decisions quickly and change them slowly, if at all. Unsuccessful people make decisions slowly and change them quickly.

Unsuccessful people want everything in place BEFORE beginning on a goal achieving journey. They continually ask 'What If Something Happens?' Successful people ask 'What if it doesn't happen?

Top achievers do not wait until every 'I' is dotted and every 't' is crossed before they decide to take a course of action. Once they feel they have enough information to make a decision that is just what they do. They then use the time on their journey to modify plans, take different directions, even stop and re-consider. But they took the initial action to get going. Non-achievers procrastinate and are subject to inertia.

It was Dr. Martin Luther King who said, 'Take the first step; You do not need to see the whole staircase before you, just take the first step in faith.

You see there is no shame in failure. To successful people failure is only finding out that what they were doing needed modifying..... they learn from the experience.

I have experienced both situations, although I have always been known as a person who makes decisions quickly, charging headlong on some activities that were doomed to failure. But each time I did not succeed another lesson was learned. What I was doing was not the correct way to reach the goal I wanted. Time for analysis and modification - so what... at least I was going toward my goal not sitting hoping something would happen.

There were times in the past when I used to blame anything around me. People, events or situations for my lack of success. I always had an excuse. You know what is the wonderful thing about our minds? We cannot tell ourselves lies. Think about it. When you are looking to blame someone else for your lack of success isn't that an outside thing? Don't you just know deep inside yourself that the responsibility really lies with you?

Remember... when you point a finger there are always three fingers pointing back. There are three types of people in the world as far as I am concerned.

Those that make things happen; Those that sit back and watch what is happening and finally those that say 'What happened?'

Which group are you in?

Fortunately for me, I've learned to take responsibility for my own actions and everything that is in my life NOW is a direct result of ME bringing it into my life. Nobody else - ME!

It is amazing how little effort you need to exert to start off making things happen in your life. As you start toward your goal you attract more and more energy that drives you toward success. Getting into action helps you maintain action; it's the simple law of physics, once a body is moving it is easier and easier to keep it moving.

It's like driving a car. At first, as you press the accelerator, you move slowly. The law of physics takes over and the car moves easier and easier with less pressure on the accelerator.

Look at your goals you have written down. You have done that, right? Just take one of them and decide to take action on it NOW! Ignore the fact that you haven't planned out the finest detail, ignore the number of times your negative self tells you it cannot happen... Just DO IT! Choose a reward you will give yourself when the goal is achieved. Take action and you will quickly learn that the only way to achieve a goal is to take action in the first place.

"Successful people will always find a way....everyone else will find an excuse." Leo Aguilar
